These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of https://ytscript.app (the "Site"), operated by YTScript ("we", "us"), which you can reach at contact@ytscript.app. By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. The service

YTScript lets you paste a link to a YouTube video and view its publicly available captions as a transcript, download them as TXT, SRT or VTT files, and generate a summary. The Site also offers subtitle converters, a video splitter that runs in your browser, and simple generators for video titles, tags, descriptions, channel names and ideas. No account is required.

Transcripts depend on captions that are available for the video. Some videos have no captions, and some requests may fail if YouTube limits access. Summaries and generator results are produced automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete.

2. No affiliation with YouTube or Google

YTScript is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC. All other trademarks, product names and logos belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the services they refer to.

3. Your responsibilities and content rights

• Videos and their captions belong to their creators and rights holders, not to us. We do not grant you any rights in that content.
• You are solely responsible for how you use any transcript, subtitle file or summary you obtain, including making sure your use is lawful — for example that it is permitted by the rights holder, falls under fair use / fair dealing or another exception, or is for personal use.
• You must comply with YouTube's Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) when you access YouTube content, including through links and embedded players on the Site.
• Do not use the Site to infringe copyright or other rights, or to republish others' content at scale without permission.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Site for any unlawful, harmful or fraudulent purpose;
• send automated or bulk requests (bots, scrapers, scripts) or use the Site as an API without our written permission;
• circumvent rate limits, caching or other technical measures, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems;
• interfere with or disrupt the Site, its servers or networks, or place an unreasonable load on them;
• submit malicious code, or content that is illegal, hateful, harassing or that infringes others' rights;
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or resell the Site's output as a service.

5. Rate limits and abuse prevention

To keep the Site available for everyone, we may limit the number of requests from an IP address, device or network, block traffic we consider automated or abusive, and change or remove features at any time without notice.

6. Advertising and third-party links

The Site may display advertising, including ads served by Google, and may link to or embed third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for third-party content, products or practices, and your dealings with them are governed by their own terms and policies.

7. Availability and changes to the service

The Site is provided free of charge. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, temporarily or permanently, without liability to you.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL OUTPUT (INCLUDING TRANSCRIPTS, SUBTITLE FILES, SUMMARIES AND GENERATED TEXT) ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE. BECAUSE THE SITE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, WE ACCEPT NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES ARISING FROM ITS USE, AND YOUR SOLE REMEDY IS TO STOP USING THE SITE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your use of any output, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone's rights.

11. Copyright complaints

If you believe material available through the Site infringes your copyright, follow the procedure on our Contact page: https://ytscript.app/contact-us/.

12. Termination

We may suspend or block your access to the Site at any time, without notice, if we believe you have breached these Terms or are misusing the Site. Sections 3, 8, 9, 10 and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the effective date above, and continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
