Copyright and takedown requests (DMCA)

YTScript does not host videos. Transcripts are built from captions that are publicly available on YouTube, and cached copies expire automatically. If you are a copyright owner, or authorised to act for one, and believe material available through our Site infringes your rights, email contact@ytscript.app with the subject "Copyright notice" and include:

  1. your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
  2. a description of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
  3. the exact URL(s) on https://ytscript.app where the material appears (for example the transcript page link);
  4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf;
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

When we receive a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the material on our Site (for example by blocking the transcript page for that video) and may notify the person concerned where possible. To have content removed from YouTube itself, use YouTube's own copyright process at https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2807622.

If you believe material was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with the details required by applicable law.

If you are reporting a video that failed, include the link — almost every such report comes down to the video having no captions, and the link lets that be confirmed in one step instead of several.

How long does a reply take?
This is a small operation rather than a support desk, so replies are not instant. Messages are read; a clear one with the details included gets answered sooner.
Should I send the video link with a bug report?
Yes, always. Whether a video has a caption track is the first thing to check and the link settles it immediately.
Can you remove content?
If you are the rights holder for something and want it addressed, say so in the message and include the details. Requests are read by a person rather than handled automatically.
Can I request a feature?
Yes. Describing the problem you are trying to solve is more useful than describing the feature, because it usually points at a simpler answer.
Do you offer an API or bulk processing?
Not at present. The site is built around one video or one file at a time.
