Video to Text Converter
Upload an audio or video file and get the text back. Files are forwarded to the configured speech-to-text provider and never stored.
File transcription is not switched on yet, so you cannot upload a file here for now. Transcripts from YouTube videos work today and need no file.
Convert a video into text. Give this page a video file and it returns what was said, written down — the conversion step between having a recording and having something you can read and search.
It is deliberately plain: no editing timeline, no playback, no library. Upload the file, get the text.
Frequently asked questions
- What happens to the video during conversion?
- Its audio track is extracted and sent for speech recognition. The picture is not analysed, and the file is not stored by this site afterwards.
- Which formats can I convert?
- MP4 and WebM are the reliable ones, since your browser has to be able to decode the file before anything can be extracted from it.
- How accurate is the result?
- As accurate as the audio allows. Clean single-speaker audio transcribes well; noisy recordings with several people talking over each other do not, and no converter fixes that.
- Can I convert a video in another language?
- Yes, where the provider supports it. Set the language if the page offers the choice — assuming the wrong one costs a lot of accuracy.
- Is there a length limit?
- Limits come from upload size and the provider's duration cap rather than the page. Splitting long recordings is usually the pragmatic answer.
